The Vision Statement and Guiding Principles for the Grant Road Improvement Plan were created based on extensive public input, technical data, and the Task Force's understanding of the project. It was finalized at the February 19th, 2008 Task Force meeting. This document will now guide the planning of the Grant Road improvements.
The Task Force and Planning Team thank the public for its interest and the many comments, suggestions, and recommendations submitted during the public comment period.

Real Estate and Acquisition

Right-of-way negotiations and property acquisition for advanced acquisition are tentatively slated to begin in the late summer/early fall of 2009, and in the beginning, will be largely focused in the area where the planning team determines the first phase of construction will occur. Property negotiations and acquisitions for other properties needed for the roadway will occur in phases over the course of time and will not begin until late summer/early fall of 2010.

Advanced acquisition requests will be considered on a case by case basis, reviewed and approved by an advanced acquisition committee.

Advanced acquisition will be considered where the property owner has a medical or other hardship which the advanced acquisition will alleviate, if granted. We encourage you to persuade your tenants to remain actively in place during the acquisition process, so that they may obtain the full amount of relocation assistance available to them. We are available to meet with you and any of your tenants to outline the benefits of remaining on the corridor in assisting you in maintaining occupancy.
