Land Use Planning and Urban Design
The Grant Road Community Character & Vitality Plan (CC&V Plan) is being developed based on the guiding principles written by the Grant Road Citizen Task Force with input from the public and validated by Tucson's Mayor and Council. The CC&V's Plan goal is to create land use policies that are clearer and a built environment that meet's the community's future vision for Grant Road. This will be achieved by creating an Optional Urban Overlay Zone for Grant Road called the Grant Road District. In order to implement the Grant Road District zone, it may be necessary to amend portions of the Area and Neighborhood Plans along Grant to better define the type of character the community desires along the roadway. More than four years of public Input has been important in shaping the plan to date, and will be important as the plan is further developed. The public will be notified of opportunities to provide input on the proposed zoning. The proposed amendments to Area and Neighborhood Plans and optional zoning will be available for public review and comment prior to their submittal to the Tucson Planning Commission, Zoning Examiner and Mayor and Council for consideration.
